Company Mission Statement

Fields of Sidmouth Ltd is a family-owned East Devon Company committed to providing a unique retail experience by offering quality merchandise, complemented by highly motivated, well trained, staff.

Business Profile

The Company is a member of Associated Independent Stores Group (AIS).  Our membership of AIS gives us the benefits of belonging to one of the largest buying groups in Europe.  To our customers and staff this means we are able to offer a choice of top quality products at attractive prices.  We are also members of the British Independent Retailers Association (BIRA).

The Company prides itself in offering "service as it used to be".

Staffing Policy

We are an Equal Opportunities Employer and currently employ 135 staff. We are fully committed to developing the skills of our workforce in order to achieve our wider business aims and objectives in the retail sector.  The Company focuses on providing traditional retail values, which are ultimately achieved through the implementation of a comprehensive staff training and development programme.  Training needs are identified on an individual basis and met by various methods.

We encourage and facilitate NVQ training throughout the Company.  Our training and development programmes are aimed at developing our workforce skills to the highest levels of customer service, which gives our customers the experience of "retail shopping as it used to be".  Our long established profile and success has developed a loyal customer base within the relevant local communities and beyond with our customers returning regularly.

We hold the firm belief that the success of the Company and that of its employees depends on the employees themselves.
